Requirements
- Industry recognized certifications, e.g.: AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals, FinOps Certified Practitioner
- 3+ years of public cloud deployment and automation experience (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, etc.)
- Experience working/interacting with RESTful APIs
- Knowledge of one or more high level programming /scripting languages, such as Python, Ruby, or JavaScript
- Strong business acumen with the ability to have a conversation with technical depth and financial investments
- Proven track record of taking ownership, leading data-driven analyses, and influencing results
- Able to operate successfully in a fast-paced organization without micromanagement
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a track record of presenting to senior management
- BS in Computer Science, related disciplines, or equivalent experience – ideal, but not required
Day to day
- Consult with clients as a cost optimization subject matter expert for public clouds such as Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure
- Analyze spending trends, opportunities for savings, and advise client with specific recommendations for improvement
- Deliver scripted automation to allocate cloud costs and provide reports and recommendations to satisfy a client’s unique needs
- Generate and present financial analysis of public cloud computing spend for clients
- Collaborate in the development of new tools and strategies for an innovative, evolving Cost Optimization Service
- Ensure implementation plans and technical problem resolutions are proceeding per process commitments
- Provide regular internal communication updates throughout the implementation, problem resolution, and consultative process
