Who you are

  • 6+ years experience in public policy, legal, or a related field preferably with a focus on privacy, technology, and digital policy
  • Strong understanding of the tech industry, privacy, and digital policy landscape
  • Proven track record working effectively with multidisciplinary teams of engineers, product managers, and other technical experts
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex privacy issues clearly
  • Strong negotiation and advocacy skills with a track record of effective external representation
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in public policy, law, or a related field; advanced degree preferred

What the job involves

  • Collaborate with internal product and engineering teams to provide expert advice on public policy implications related to privacy-focused products and advertising technologies
  • Proactively identify public policy challenges and provide advice to mitigate risks
  • Develop positive relationships with internal stakeholders to integrate privacy policy considerations into the product development process
  • Represent Mozilla in external forums and engage with policymakers on privacy policy issues
  • Translate complex technical concepts into actionable policy insights and recommendations
  • Build and maintain documentation on privacy regulatory requirements and policy considerations for various markets
  • Coordinate with global policy, legal, marketing, and communications teams to ensure consistency in privacy policy positions
  • Monitor and communicate internally about emerging privacy policy issues and regulatory developments
